For your information….

A long awaited opportunity to further progress on waterfront economic development occurs this week. The Department of Ecology, Rayonier and the Lower Elwha Tribe are hosting a public meeting on Thursday Nov. 8 to review and take comments on a draft report that presents soil and groundwater data for the mill site, evaluation of ecological risk and offsite data among other site related reports.  The meeting is at the Clallam County Commissioners Board Room and involves two sessions.  The first is an open house format with opportunity to speak individually with representatives from Ecology, Rayonier, the Tribe and Olympic Environmental Council - that runs from 5PM to 6:30PM.  The formal session starts at 7PM, Bill Harris of Ecology will explain the process and provide a brief description of all the documents (you can see them on Ecology's web site –http://www.ecy.wa.gov/).  Ecology will then take comments that will be part of the rulemaking record.
